Here is the Who and the What
I am Carl Juliano and I volunteer my time and experience to making Theater in a Box become a go to source for the prop and set needs
over the last 40 plus years, this is my way of giving back.
I have been making props and set items or acquiring furniture for Theater groups for many years on a smaller scale.
We now have a warehouse we are still filling with the items I have had stuffed in six storage units. We add new items almost daily. We have received items from groups who had no space to keep them any longer, and we have collected items from groups who
unfortunately had to close, usually for funding reasons.
Theater in a Boxe also helps co-ordinate the lending and delivery of items between groups. So what one group owns can be shared with groups in need more effectively.
We believe in recycling!
We seek out sources of usable pre used lumber. We take donated set parts from groups that don't need them and we reuse them or disassemble them for parts to make or repair something else.
This is the Why
A great number of our client groups have been trapped in a circle of buying wood and materials to build sets, props and other items
for every show they present. Once the show has ended it's run much of this material ends up in the dumpster because they have little
or no space to store them. These groups spend large portions of their budget to buy these same materials for every show.
Theater in a Box is trying to end much of this cycle by supplying as much or as little as each group may need. Every dollar they save by using our items will allow them to direct those funds to other needs. They might now be able to pay musician's, get lighting, mics and sound equipment, better costumes our rent a better venue for their production.
Pelham Community Theatre.
Our program has been a long-running childrens’s theatre program since the early 2000’s. Our kids from grades 1 through 12 put on 3 productions per school year. We have had the great pleasure of working with Theatre in a Box for our last few productions, Suessical the Musical, and Spongebob the Musical. Carl and his team have generously lent us large props and build us custom props that we do not have the immediate resources to build and store ourselves. As a small community theatre, these props have been an enormous addition to help bring our productions to life.

Garrison Players
Theater In a Box is an outstanding resource for theaters of all kinds. Not only were they able to take and store some of our excess props to make available to other theaters, but they also located and transported the exact set pieces we required for our production of The Humans. Carl was extremely helpful and friendly. He delivered and picked up the pieces in a timely manner and he and his crew did most of the heavy lifting. Our show most definitely benefited from the great work of TIAB!

The Stafford School
"Our experience with Theater in a Box was a dream come true. We are a rural K-8 school in the process of rebuilding our drama program. For the first time since 2019, we had the opportunity to have students put on a theatrical production. We chose the classic story of Pollyanna. We faced challenges of how and where we would be able to find necessary props and sets to help bring the show to life. Thanks to Theater in a Box, we were able to have an authentic wooden wheelchair, doctor's bag, candlestick phone and time period chairs." "Theater in a Box is a fantastic asset and valuable resource for the local community theater world."

Epping Middle-High School
"Theater in a Box have played a pivotal role in the success of our school's drama program. I revamped the program in the spring of 2022, and Carl was there to support us from the beginning. He helped make our first large scale musical production possibly by allowing us to borrow props and some set pieces. If he didn't have something, Carl will go above and beyond and make it for us. We are so appreciative of the work that he and his company have put in to help our school show's have a higher production quality."

The props and set pieces Theater in a Box provides has raised the production values of both of my companies. Producing performing arts is a very expensive endeavor, beyond what those on the outside can comprehend. It’s great to have such organizations that can help all different groups thrive and provide the highest level of art possible.
